Type of Study: observational, descriptive, retrospective, series of cases. Methods: We analyzed questionnaires and certificates of death of 1990-97 of the Hospital General SSA. Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. The variables that we studied human being: A.- Pathology of heart: 1. Alteration or defect (muscle, valve, of the trunk arterious) 2. Diagnosis B. Type death: 1. fetal or neonatal 2. Other anomalies congenital associates 4. other associate illnesses C.- clinical History: 1. heart Blow 2. wieght newborn 3. Correlation r amenorrhoea/ weight Results: We found 25 cases with congenital heart anomalies of 1050 deaths II perinatals (5.08%). The 70% with cardiomegaly and the 65% they presented cianosis. The most frequent illness was the communication interauricular (CIA) followed by coartation of the aorta. Discussion: The congenital hearts anomaly is rare illnesses that corresponded 5.08% of the mortality II perinatal. These illnesses have a clinical square that was: heart blow, cianosis, cardiomegaly and breathing symptoms in a 70% of the cases. These lesions are one of the causes of mortality in the first week of the postchildbirth.
