Polycythemia vera (PV) is a rare hematological malignancy, and one of the chronic myeloproliferative disorder. Its clinical course is very slow.¹⁾ It is also known that finally many proportions of the patients will develop acute leukemia. Other causes of morbidity are thrombotic or hemorrhagic phenomena.²⁾ But the occlusion in renal artery is not common. Here we reported the first case of acute renal failure due to the occlusion of renal artery in a patient with PV.
