Abstract

Chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB) is one of the widespread diseases in persons having occupational contact with substances with irritant effect on respiratory ways. Early preclinical diagnosis of COB is a necessary condition for prevention of pronounced forms of the disease, which are hard to cure. The diagnosis should be based on clinicofunctional investigation with a detection of partial volume velocities of forced expiration. One can judge about preclinical manifestations of COB using the following formula: f = 0,0271 x FEU1/ UC + 0,016 x FEF25 + 0,0173 x FEF75 - 4,2614 where FEU1/UC - expressed in percentage; FEF25 and FEF75 expressed in percentage to due values, respectively.(R.F.Klement et al. 1986). Persons without clinical manifestations of chronic bronchitis, but which have f < 0 should be considered as persons with preclinical sympto
