Starting comments for the presentation by Tavernier et al

Dear Jan (and Douglas):

Clearly the INITIAL event of IL-5 binding to CD34+ progenitors (presumably via pre-existing IL-5R) is induction of IL-5R-TM; what then will determine whether IL-5R-SOL will be induced (and therefore presumably dampen down eosinophil development), or whether -TM will remain as the preferred expression (and therefore presumably amplify eosinophil development)?
