Dr. Storey: Thank you very much for your comments. It is very difficult question to answer. In this study, we just looked at the first input (expression and activation of EGFR) and final outcome (growth-responsiveness), and the activation of only three key players as we believe (MAPK, STAT, p21waf1) in the complicated signaling pathway. In my opinion, in addition to above three key players, we should examine the expression of some target genes for MAPK, such as myc, and we must know the status of ras. Then if possible, we should examined the expression and activation of protein phosphatases for MAPKs.
