Martin Short had a leading role in the musical Godspell in Toronto and for a brief time hosted a T.V. show for the CBC. He received rave reviews for his performances in Toronto in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Harry’s Back in Town and Everything Goes. In 1977, Martin became a member of the Second City Comedy Troupe. For his writing work on SCTV he received both ACTRA and Emmy Awards. Mr. Short’s films include Three Amigos (1986), Innerspace (1987), Three Fugitives, The Big Picture In 1993, he fulfilled a personal dream by starring in the musical version of The Goodbye Girl on Broadway. The characters he has created and portrayed include Jackie Rodgers Jr., Cheaplaffs Johnson, Ed Grimley, Nathan Thurm and Irving Cohen. Martin Short is a much sought–after actor who donates time and energy to successful fund–raising for many worthwhile causes.
