Dr. Judd was granted an M.A. in Applied Biology from the University of Western Ontario (1940) and a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Toronto (1946). During World War II, he served the Royal Canadian Air Force at the Meteorological Service in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (1942–1945). Dr. Judd held teaching and research positions in the Department of Zoology at McMaster University (1946–1950) and the University of Western Ontario (1950–1981). Retired with Professor Emeritus (Zoology) in 1981 from the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Judd has concentrated his efforts on writing and involvement in conservation projects.
