Nigel Fisher is President and CEO of UNICEF Canada. He left the United Nations four years ago at the rank of Assistant Secretary–General. He had been Executive Director of the UN Office for Project Services, a 5,000 strong contracting agency specializing in complex project management, especially in conflict zones.
He was Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary–General for the UN peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, in the immediate post–Taliban years, responsible for oversight of all of the UN humanitarian and reconstruction agencies in the country and for civil–military relations.
