Request for Hearing Withdrawn
(General Notice sent to McMaster Community on January 6, 2003)

To all members of the pension surplus sharing group
 
We are pleased to inform you that the Request for Hearing submitted to the Financial Services Tribunal has been withdrawn and that the Superintendent of Financial Institutions is now in a position to make a final ruling on the surplus sharing proposal. As part of the resolution  that lead to the withdrawal of the hearing request, the individual who  made it, Dr. Alan Bishop, has asked that other members of the surplus sharing group be informed of his reasons.  As a result, those of you that are interested in reading Dr. Bishop's explanation for his hearing request and ultimate decision to withdraw such request,  may click on the following website address to read a copy of Dr. Bishop's statement.
