Human Reviewers: The Achilles Heel of Scientific Journals in a Digital Era Marilyn J. Cipolla, Ph.D.

I would like to respond to Dr. Bloom's comments in his presentation on peer review of submitted manuscripts. It is nice to see someone addressing this issue, although I think that peer review is one of those services that are important to the functioning of the whole process of presentation and publication of findings and should not necessarily be rewarded. Nor should any reviewer do a worse job on a manuscript just because it is not for one of the "leading journals". I also believe that if peer review were not anonymous, some of these problems would subside. Thank you for such a nice presentation.
