Dr. Juurlink: Hope you are enjoying the meeting. Great poster. You indicate that "increases in tissue GSH can be accomplished either by administering compounds that increase intracellular levels of the rate-limiting amino acid, cysteine, for GSH synthesis or by promoting the activity of the rate-limiting enzyme, glutamyl-cysteine synthase." What is the evidence that this enzyme is rate limiting vs. that the energy metabolism favors GSSG rather than GSH?
