Dr. Cocciolone:Hope you are enjoying the meeting. Great poster. It is interesting that the South Australian Maternal Serum Antenatal Screening Programme currently detects one pregnancy affected by fetal Down syndrome for every 58 amniocenteses performed (81.5% of all affected pregnancies screened). I did not realize that the incidence of Down syndrome was that high. Is there some sort of prescreening involved?
