We know that there is tyrosine hydroxylase innervation of PR-containing neurons, at least in guinea pigs (i.e., "nonconventional junctional complexes; TJ Brown et al., 1990), and we know that there are TH-ir varicosities associated with PR-IR cells from our own work. We also know that there is vaginocervical stimulation induced DARPP-32 phosphorylation in cells in many of these areas, and that at least some of these neurons contain PRs. We do not yet have the answer to the question of colocalization of dopamine receptors on PR-ir neurons.
