In your discussion on possible common mechanism of ACEI and calcium channel antagonists, you suggested that their vasodilator function could be one of the mechanisms.  However, as you know, previous studies using vasodilators in the SHR reported that they did not have significant effects on the vessel wall structure, i.e. in reducing the medial mass.  Dr. Ledingham results on the GH rats showed a difference between ACEI and calcium channel antagonist on the type of vessel wall change.  Is it possible that if you use a different method of morphometric measurement, you might find that the two classes of drugs may cause different tyoe of change in lumen size?
