This is a very nice study. I assume that your vessels were not being perfused in these experiments. If that is correct, do you think that the continuous shear stress to which the endothelium is exposed in vivo might modify the pressure-induced release of endothelin in SHR? More specifically, I'm wondering if shear-dependent activation of endothelial NOS or cyclooxygenase may influence endothelin release. What do you think?Matt Boegehold
