Dr. Schuller,
Thnak you for an interesting presentation. Neural mechanisms of bats echolocation form an intriguing part of behavioural neuroscience. I am not familiar enough with the repertoire of bats vocalization, so I would like to ask whether vocalizations obtained in your study by brain stimulation represent pure echolocating signals or are also used by bats for other intraspecific communication purposes. Calls initiated in the limbic system and expressing emotionality may be controlled by different circuitries than those generating echolocation signals for spatial orientation.
