McMaster Philanthropy Multimedia Festival

As part of McMaster University’s new Philanthropy Website project, University Advancement is inviting members of the McMaster community to create videos and/or multimedia presentations that help publicize the impact and influence of philanthropy in McMaster’s past and present.

The winning creations will be available on the new Philanthropy at McMaster website (impact.mcmaster.ca) and will play in rotation on a number of video screens located on campus.

Number One

Pick a Topic

There are plenty of topics you could explore. For example, your video could discuss pre-1987 on campus facilities funded significantely by donations. This includes building such as Mills Library, Edwards Hall and the Alumni Memorial Hall. You could also explore on campus learning resources that enrich McMaster students experience. Examples of this being the resources available at McMaster's numerous libraries or contributions to the Museum of Art, labs or study facilities. Need more ideas? Number Two

Make a Video

The ideal length for a video is anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds. Since your video will be shown around campus as well as online, do your best to compose a feature that follows McMaster's design guidelines. For more details on this, Click Here for guidance. As well, keep in mind that your video will be seen by pedestrian audiences that may not be able to hear audio. If you would like access to McMaster-owned images or photos, please let us know and we would be happy to accommodate. Also, multiple submissions will be accepted from one creator.
